L.I.F.F.E. has been my gym since fall 2019. During that time there have been a lot of changes within the gym. First covid, then a fire, and then a couple of temporary locations. Finally, a state of the art new facility with all that anyone would need to stay fit. With all that, the trainer Ron, has remained consistent in his message. His most common sayings are “I Can, I Will, I Must”, and “What is Your WHY”. The latter “What Is Your Why” has recently been most prevalent in my life. At first, my WHY has always been to be able to move around when I get older. Seeing how my parents have had diminished movement abilities over the years, I wanted to do everything possible to prevent that from happening to me. NOW, over the last few months my strength has been put to the test. My father had been unable to walk. I dug out the wheelchair, got him in, and had to “bulldoze” him up the ramp. He is 6’ and 210 lbs. Had I not been doing the endurance and strength exercises consistently, there would be no way I could have accomplished that feat. I was thinking about the sled’s while pushing my dad up the ramp. I realized that all the work I have been putting in at the gym was the only reason I was able to take care of him at that time. Putting the wheelchair in and out of the car was also quite difficult, but my strength allowed me to do it. I am thankful for Ron in pushing me to do what he knows I can. My health has also led me to stay active. I have thyroid issues and diabetes along with joint problems. With my activity my A1C has remained at 6.1 for the past few years. I have even lost about 40 pounds over the past few years. Did I mention that I am 57 years old. My goal is to still be doing HIIT when I am 77 and older. God willing.
All my life gaining weight has never been something my body would let me do, except when I had cancer then I gained all the weight! Then of course lost it all by doing absolutely nothing after treatment was over. I started my journey with LIFFE Fitness Center at 105 pounds I’m now up to 114! I know that may not seem like anything to most, but to me it’s flippin awesome! And I owe it all to my trainer Ron! Thank you for pushing me and believing in me even when I give him a hard time, because if you know me I always got something to say🤣
Love this place. Best 60 minutes of my day everyday. Fitness, fun & change. Stop in. You won’t regret it!
